Disclaimer — Academic Calculators

Disclaimer Policy

Last Updated: June 15, 2026

⚠️ CRITICAL NOTICE: The SGPA and CGPA calculators on this website provide estimates. They are NOT official academic documents. You must verify your final percentage and grade classifications with your university’s official marksheet or exam cell before using them for any professional, academic, or legal purpose.

1. General Disclaimer

The tools and content provided on this website (the “Service”) are for general informational and educational purposes only. I have built these calculators to help Indian students estimate their academic performance using publicly available formulas, but the results should not be treated as a substitute for official university documentation.

2. Accuracy of Formulas and Data

While I make every effort to ensure the mathematical accuracy of the calculators and the formulas programmed into them, I cannot guarantee that the results are 100% accurate for every student. Here is why:

  • Regulation Changes: Universities frequently update their grading systems, regulation years (e.g., VTU 2018 vs. VTU 2022 scheme), and conversion formulas without widespread notice.
  • Departmental Variations: Sometimes, different departments within the same university apply slightly different grading criteria or internal weightage.
  • Grace Marks and Exceptions: Calculators cannot account for manual adjustments made by universities, such as grace marks, moderation, or COVID-19 specific grading policies.

Therefore, any reliance you place on the calculated SGPA, CGPA, or percentage is strictly at your own risk.

3. Not Professional Academic Advice

The information and calculated results provided by this Service do not constitute official academic evaluation, legal advice, or career counseling. I am an engineer, not a university registrar or a legal advisor.

Specifically, you should not rely solely on my calculator outputs to determine:

  • Eligibility for campus placements or job applications (e.g., TCS, Infosys cutoffs).
  • Eligibility for government exams (e.g., UPSC, MPSC, IBPS).
  • Eligibility for higher education admissions (e.g., GATE, CAT, MS abroad).
  • Eligibility for scholarships or education loan disbursements.

4. User Input Responsibility

The accuracy of the calculator’s output is entirely dependent on the accuracy of your input. I am not responsible for errors resulting from:

  1. Incorrect Data Entry: Entering the wrong credit hours (e.g., entering 4 instead of 3 for a subject).
  2. Wrong Grade Selection: Selecting an ‘A’ grade instead of an ‘A+’ or misinterpreting your marksheet.
  3. Incorrect Marks Entry: Entering raw marks without combining internal and external components, or entering marks out of the wrong total.
  4. Wrong University Selection: Using a VTU calculator for an Anna University marksheet.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law, I expressly disclaim all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of (or inability to use) the Service. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Loss of job opportunities or placement eligibility due to quoting an incorrect percentage calculated by this tool.
  • Rejection of university admissions or scholarship applications.
  • Any discrepancy between the calculator’s output and your official Consolidated Marks Memo (CMM) or Provisional Certificate.

6. External Links Disclaimer

This website may contain links to official university websites (e.g., .ac.in or .gov.in domains) or PDF circulars for reference purposes only. I do not control the content on these external websites. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by me, and I am not responsible for the accuracy or availability of the external information.

7. “Show Your Work” Feature

My calculators feature a “Step-by-Step Calculation” breakdown to show you exactly how the math was performed. This feature is designed for educational transparency so you can verify the logic yourself. However, sharing this breakdown on social media or with recruiters does not make it an official verification of your grades.

8. Reporting Formula Errors

I rely on the student community to help keep the calculators updated. If your official marksheet shows a conversion formula that differs from my calculator, please notify me immediately via the Contact Page. I will investigate and update the tool as quickly as possible.

Bottom Line: Use this tool to get a quick, highly educated estimate of your grades. It is built to be as accurate as possible based on public data. But when it comes to official paperwork, always trust the math printed on the back of your official university marksheet.
