Privacy Policy — Academic Calculators

Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 15, 2026

🔒 THE SHORT VERSION: Your academic data (grades, marks, SGPA, CGPA) is 100% private. All calculations happen locally in your web browser. I do not transmit, read, or store your academic inputs on any server. No login is required.

Welcome to my academic calculator website (the “Service”). I built this tool with student privacy as the core foundation. This Privacy Policy explains how I handle information when you use my Service, and how I comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 of India.

1. How Your Data is Processed (Client-Side Architecture)

Unlike many edtech platforms, I do not require you to create an account or enter personal identifiers to use the calculators.

My calculators operate entirely on “Client-Side” JavaScript. This means:

  • When you enter your marks, credits, or grades into the SGPA or CGPA calculators, that data is processed exclusively by your own device (phone or computer).
  • Your academic inputs are never sent to my servers, my database, or any third-party API.
  • If you close the browser tab, your entered data is instantly wiped from your device’s memory.

2. Information I DO NOT Collect

For the avoidance of doubt, I do not collect, store, or process the following personal or academic data through the calculator tools:

  • Student ID numbers, Roll Numbers, or Enrollment IDs
  • Subject names, marks, or grade points
  • Your calculated SGPA, CGPA, or Percentage results
  • University regulation selections (e.g., whether you selected VTU 2022 or AKTU R22)

3. Information I DO Collect (Via Contact Form & Analytics)

While the calculators themselves are completely private, I do collect minimal data if you choose to interact with the site in the following ways:

  • Contact Form Submissions: If you email me or use the contact form to report a formula error or request a new university, I will receive the information you voluntarily provide (your name, email address, and the message content). I use this solely to respond to your query and improve the calculators.
  • Analytics Data: I use privacy-respecting analytics software to understand general site traffic. This may collect anonymized data such as your IP address (truncated/masked), browser type, screen resolution, and general geographic region (e.g., “Maharashtra, India”). This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

My Service does not use tracking cookies for advertising or marketing. I may use strictly necessary technical cookies or HTML5 Local Storage for the following purposes:

  • To remember your last selected “Input Mode” (Grade Mode vs. Marks Mode) temporarily during a single session.
  • To operate the analytics software mentioned above (usually first-party, anonymized cookies).

5. Third-Party Links

The website contains hyperlinks to official university websites (e.g., .ac.in domains) and official circular PDFs. I am not responsible for the privacy practices of these external websites. I encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

6. Data Security

I implement commercially reasonable security measures to protect the limited data I do hold (like contact form submissions). However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. Because my calculators do not store your academic data on my servers, the risk of your grades being intercepted or leaked through my platform is virtually zero.

7. Your Rights under the DPDP Act, 2023

As a Data Principal under Indian law, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request information about the personal data I hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of any inaccurate personal data (e.g., your email address in a contact form submission).
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for data processing.
Note: Because I do not collect academic data or require logins, there is no profile for you to delete. If you have previously contacted me via email and wish for your email/message to be deleted from my inbox, simply email me at contact@example.com with “Data Deletion Request” in the subject line.

8. Children’s Privacy

My calculators are used by Class 10 and Class 12 students who may be under the age of 18. I do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children. Since no login or personal identification is required to use the calculators, no minor’s data is stored in my systems.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in my practices or legal requirements (especially as the DPDP Act rules are formally notified). I will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last Updated” date at the top.
