About Me — Official Academic Calculators for Indian Students

About This Calculator & Me

Built by an Indian engineer to provide the most accurate, regulation-aware grade conversions for 200+ universities. 100% free, 100% private.

Why I Built This

Every semester, millions of Indian students face the same stressful question: “What is my exact percentage?”

I faced this exact problem when I was in college. The problem? India’s grading system is deeply fragmented. A 7.5 SGPA means something completely different at VTU than it does at Anna University or AKTU. Back then, I was forced to use generic online calculators that applied a standard “multiply by 9.5” formula to everything—resulting in errors of 5% to 8%. That error margin is the difference between qualifying for a TCS placement or getting rejected, between getting a GATE scholarship or missing out.

I got tired of seeing students (including myself) use the wrong formulas. So, I built the tool I wished I had when I was a student—one that knows your specific university, your specific regulation year, and your specific grading scale.

My Core Values

🎯 Uncompromising Accuracy

I do not guess. Every formula programmed into this calculator was pulled directly by me from official university ordinances, academic regulations, and RTI responses. If a university updates a circular, I update the tool.

🔒 Absolute Privacy

Your academic data is personal. I strictly comply with the DPDP Act 2023. I do not require logins, I do not save your grades on my servers, and I never sell data to edtech marketers. The calculation happens entirely in your browser.

🚀 Student-First Design

I design for the student who just got their exam results and is panicking on their phone. No pop-ups, no confusing jargon, no 5-page sign-up flows. Just a fast, mobile-friendly tool that gives you the answer instantly.

How I Verify Formulas

Trust is earned through transparency. Here is my exact process for adding or updating a university formula:

  1. Source Identification: I locate the primary source document (e.g., VTU Regulations Annexure 3, AKTU Academic Ordinance, Anna University Letters).
  2. Cross-Referencing: I verify the formula against at least two independent sources—usually the official .ac.in website and the university’s printed marksheet guidelines.
  3. Implementation & Testing: I program the formula and test it against 20+ real student marksheets from different regulation years (e.g., R18 vs R22) to ensure edge cases like backlogs and lab credits are handled perfectly.
  4. Expert Review: Before publishing, I have the finalized logic reviewed by academic professionals to ensure it aligns with UGC frameworks.

Amit Kumar — Creator & Engineer

Hi! I’m an alumnus of NIT Trichy (B.Tech, M.Tech). I experienced the pain of CGPA miscalculations firsthand during my own placement season. I watched friends miss out on opportunities because they used the wrong conversion formula on a job application. That’s why I built this. Today, I spend my time digging through university annexures, decoding grading systems like KTU’s 8.5 half-step scale, and ensuring the math on this site works flawlessly for you.

Found an Error? Let Me Know.

University regulations change frequently. While I monitor official circulars daily, I also rely on the student community. If your marksheet shows a conversion formula that differs from my calculator, please email me at contact@example.com with a photo of the back of your marksheet or the official circular link. I will investigate and update the site within 48 hours.

Disclaimer: While I strive for 100% accuracy, this calculator provides estimates based on publicly available documents. Always verify your final percentage with your institution’s exam cell or official marksheet before submitting it for government jobs, higher education, or official documentation.
